Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.
1 Peter 5:9

The battle that rages against us in the world today is much like the battle that king Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah faced in II Chronicles 20. The enemy was closing in fast on every side to destroy the children of God.

They were terrified, but all the families came together to fast and pray to God because they knew they had no power to win this fight. They prayed, “We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you”(II Chronicles 20:12).

The word of the Lord came to them in response to their cry in II Chronicles 20:17, “…You will not need to fight this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf…”

They went to battle singing and praising God. What a sight that must have been. By faith they trusted God’s word and won. He fought for them that day, and He will fight for you, but remember we still have to get dressed. See Ephesians 6 for proper battle attire. This wardrobe is always in season, and don’t worry if you’ve picked up a few extra pounds around the waist – one size fits all.

II Corinthians 10:3-4 says, “For though we live in the world we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds”(NIV).

Knowing that God is with us in the battles of life makes all the difference. Since we all have a common enemy, let’s continue to pray for ourselves, our families, and our brothers and sisters all around the world, that by God’s grace, we will continue to stand firm and be strong in our faith no matter what comes our way.

Keep standing – Grace and Peace.
